The boys kicked off their T20 games with a great team effort win.
Batting First it didnt take Hally long to kick into gear finding the boundaries with ease. Cossie played the ideal support role, also picking up the odd boundary. The boys raced to 0/50 from 5 overs and didn't stop there. Cossie was first to fall for 28, that brought Fergy to the crease and things didnt get any better for South. Sam brought up his 50 shortly after and was then dismissed, caught on the boundary going for another maximum. Fergy continued on with Brayden McGregor as the pair rotated the strike well. When Brayden was dismissed, Marquee player Dale Kerr came in and hit a maximum as we ended our 20 overs, 5/157, Fergy out for 41.
If our batting looked comprehensive, our bowling was possibly even better. It all started with 2 run outs, 1 direct hit from cover by Brayden McGregor and then 1 off the bowlers hand from Ferg. Chasing 158 and sitting at 2/17, South were a long way off it. Dale Kerrr looked sharp with his first bowl in the black and white, whilst Fergy was keeping things tight. Greggy picked up his 1st wicket for the club, before quickly grabbing his 2nd a few overs later. The best bowling of the night was from leg spinner Nathan Berry. Bez's 4 overs cost just 15 runs as he picked up a caught and bowled. With the game all but over, Dale wrapped up the game with 2 late wickets as South were all out for 93.
Our Next T20 game will also be at home in a couple of weeks time. We'll take on Murgheboluc, but before then its back to red ball cricket on Saturday as we'll battle South once again.
