Our Geelong Advertiser T20 Cup Campaign has come to and end with another close loss in tonight's game against St Joeys. Bowling first with 7 regular 1st XI players missing, the boys started well, however the small straight boundaries are hard to manage in the short form of the game. Even good balls were being miss hit for 6 straight down the ground. Skipper Mitchell lead from the front with the ball and was well supported by Tattsy and Tanner Bruhn as Joeys finished 7/149.
In reply Sam hit an early boundary to get the guys going however he fell soon after for 10. Casey came and went as the game quickly slipped away. Curtly Balshaw played his usual innings with a run a ball 30 whilst Braden Szponar cleared the boundary a couple of times to try and get the boys back in it. When they both fell along with a couple of other middle order bats it was 7/93 with less then 5 overs to go. From there our boys could have easily folded and hand Joeys the win however Mitch hit four 6's in the space of 2 overs to make the game interesting. Nedding 18 runs to win from the last 5 balls his run out finished things off as we were bowled out 10 runs short of victory.
Another disappointing T20 season comes to an end with only the 1 win this year. The boys now turn their focus back to the red ball with a big game this week against GCA Powerhouse's East Belmont.
